Successful Social Security Disability and Workers' Compensation Cases

May 2021:

Our young client sustained serious injuries, including head and lumbar spine injuries, after a fall from a roof over six years ago.  Multiple procedures and surgeries were required.  The workers compensation insurer provided every benefit due without serious dispute, while the claimant’s Qualified Rehabilitation Consultant managed the claim and helped him return to work when he was ready.  After years of appropriate care, our client achieved a great medical recovery.

May 2021:

Our client had worked his entire career for one employer.  He sustained injuries over the years, reporting some and not reporting others.  He had a history of low back injury leading to surgery, not related to any work injury, and a history of low back care thereafter.  He sustained an injury while temporarily working out of state.  That state system determined the injury was temporary and denied benefits.  Our client went on to undergo multiple surgeries.  We were able to link his need for low back surgeries to distant work injuries.  Our client achieved an excellent settlement of the claim through mediation.

May 2021:

Our client had a strong work history.  She began to experience cognitive decline years ago, but was properly diagnosed only recently.  We were able to link her symptoms beginning some years prior to the new diagnosis, allowing our client to obtain significant past due benefit amounts that might otherwise have been denied.

April 2021:

Our client, a woman of advanced years, sustained serious facial injuries as the result of a dog bite. After surgery, she made an excellent recovery, with no loss of vision and a minimal scar. A settlement was obtained for a sum in excess of $100,000.00.

March 2021:

Successful result with an award of benefits for Social Security claimant, denied at a prior hearing when represented by former counsel. Found disabled on reconsideration without the need for a new hearing, based upon a more thorough investigation of medical history and care.

Fully Favorable Decision following a hearing in a claim for Social Security Disability benefits for a younger individual with mental health problems, complicated with a long history of substance abuse. The claimant had recovered and returned to work; the judge approved a closed-end period of disability. The claim had been denied twice previously.

Fully Favorable Decision following a hearing in a claim for Social Security Disability benefits for a younger individual with problems related to the upper extremity, necessitating multiple surgeries. The case was complicated by the limiting impairments to only one upper extremity and the claimant's ongoing non-work activities.

Award issues following successful mediated settlement of Workers Compensation claim, complicated by application of Kirchner Supreme Court cases due to multiple injuries, all resulting in increased loss of earning capacity. The initial injury had resulted in a trial with a successful result, and favorable Findings and Order.

We represented our client in claims for both Social Security disability as well as workers compensation benefits. Our client had sustained an admitted injury almost thirty years ago, which we claimed contributed to eventual amputation. Our client received a Fully Favorable Determination in his claim for disability benefits and was successfully mediated his claim for additional workers' compensation benefits as well.

January 2021:

Our long-time client sustained an injury in 2014. We successfully tried his claim to a workers compensation judge, for which he received benefits. We then proceeded with a claim for Social Security disability, which was also successful following a hearing.We then turned back to the workers' compensation claim, and successfully resolved his claim, based upon permanent total disability status.

Settlement sum of $180,000.00 together with payment of all medical and psychological care claims related to the work injury to date and continuing.

Our client had difficulty establishing contributions to the Social Security system; we helped establish insured status as well as medical support for the claim.
